State Route 91 runs in a east-west direction and connects the Los Angeles coastal area with numerous communities located inland along it's route.

The SR-91 is known by several names, depending on area/section... it's most westerly section (between the Harbor Freeway and the Long Beach Freeway) it's called the "Gardena Freeway"... it's mid-westerly section (between Long Beach Freeway and the Santa Ana Freeway) it's called the "Artesia Freeway"... and the easterly section is called the "Riverside Freeway".

The length of SR 91 is approx. 65 miles long.
