In the greater Los Angeles area, the Interstate 5 is also called the "Golden State Freeway" and the "Santa Ana Freeway" (depending on the section/region).

Generally speaking, the Interstate 5 on the north side of Los Angeles (approx. north of where the i-5 and the i-10 cross) is called the "Golden State Freeway"... and the Interstate 5 on the south side of Los Angeles (approx. south of where the i-5 and the i-10 cross) is called the "Santa Ana Freeway"... further south, and on the south side of where the i-5 and the 405 meet and the i-5 continues south, the i-5 is also known as the "San Diego Freeway".
